Cesar Manrique House

Its some time since I visited the foundation headquarters so popped in this morning. Manrique was a famous local Artist and Architect who did much for the island and also influenced how tourism was developed. His work can be seen all voer the island.

This house is typical of his style where it is built on lava flow from vocanic eruptions and the lava bubbles are incorporated into the design. 

This Blip shows one of his paintings beside a window which gives an indication of the surrounding countryside and in front of the window is some of the orriginal volcanic rock the house is built around.
