God's Own Junkyard, Walthamstow

Today we were in Walthamstow to pay a visit to God's Own Junkyard, it was a feast for the eyes, a neon extravaganza.  We had a long chat with one of the guys that runs the place about their work, their old stuff and new.  They have a café there so you can sit and enjoy something while surrounded by all the lights.  My companion was very tempted by one of the neon pieces but they are very spendy.

We had lunch in Walthamstow Village (very twee indeed) at the Queens Arms, I had a very good steak and Guinness pie with red cabbage, had to leave the mashed potatoes uneaten, just too much food!

We also paid a visit to the William Morris Gallery while we were in the neighborhood, hmm, really a disappointment.  Thankfully it was free.  The house was beautiful but there just wasn't that much stuff.

Dinner in Streatham at Mrs Wong's, excellent, excellent Chinese food.  Cynthia Payne was there having dinner.
