Glass cellar

A busy busy day, then a late afternoon trip to a hotel near Newbury in Berkshire, where Audi is staging the UK launch of the new A4. The hotel is just a few miles from Highclere Castle, better known as the location of TV's Downton Abbey.

An interesting feature of the hotel is its glass cellar, which holds some 30,000 bottles of fine wines, some of which are visible beneath your feet near the reception desk. Perhaps it's not too surprising that the hotel, appropriately called the Vineyard, recently won 2015 European Hotel Wine List of the Year.

Did I sample a glass or two over dinner? Of course!
