Axe Valley Quilters...Tea and Sympathy.

Quilting meeting today. This is a detail from the centre of a quilt I made in honour of our quilting group. As you can see, tea plays an important part in out get-togethers. You can spot the sewing symbols in the pieces. Sewing thread, needles and pins, thimbles and there are other pieces in the quilt that have tape measures on. The two stripes have the names of traditional blocks on them and there are bees, as a nod to sewing bees. Chairs make up the edging but if you look carefully there are lots of pieces printed with little buns, plates etc. to reflect the great teas we have. I got all the ladies to sign their name on fabric hearts which will be appliqued to the yellow triangles round the edge of the quilt. The extra pic is a detail from the edge.
