Allegedly a Victoria sponge!

Excitement in the house for the Great British Bake Off final - we let Lottie stay up and watch it.

I had a domestic moment - roast chicken for tea, shepherds pie ready for tomorrow, and a bit of baking too. Seemed only right to be able to eat cake while we watched!

With a name like mine I really ought to be able to make a Victoria Sponge but it never quite rises properly. Even the brownie isn't as nice as usual.

Well done to Nadiya for her win on GBBO - she deserved it. And yes, I was one of those with a tear or two at the end!
