A Different Landscape.

I'm sure you will all think I'm mad choosing this image.  I did so because this morning we were at the Philmont Scout Ranch near Cimarron, New Mexico.  I declined the foresters invitation to view the museum and instead played with my camera outside.  The Santa Fe trail was just south of this place and as I looked at the land I thought those pioneers would have seen a lot of plants like these as they trudged along. 
The Boy Scouts of America use the ranch as their high adventure base for scouts and venturers.  The forester came out and said the museum had a very good gift shop and would I like to choose something.  The family now have presents.
