Going Out of Town

We had to take both the new car and the new vacuum in for service today, and, fortuitously, both businesses are in the same town in the east Bay. Which is thankfully near a delicious Afghan restaurant where we sampled a tableful of wonderful treats: pallow, aushak, bolani, and jala (homemade ice cream with rose water and chilled rice noodles). Almost, alllmost, makes up for having to drive an hour and a half on the darn freeway to get things taken care of. Well, we could have taken the car to the local dealership instead of going out of town, but the local guys have a shady reputation, and they're mean and not very pleasant. So, yeah, the Afghan food tips the scale. The next service isn't due for some time now, so I guess we will be going back up there just for the food next time!
