Team Uruguay....

Manchester is in rugby mode. More used to football with City and United, the city is being taken over by the Rugby World Cup with Uruguay playing England at the Ethihad Stadium on Sunday and the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford on Saturday. I told that these games come from different branches of rugby and they are as different as chalk and cheese but I can't see the difference personally.

We've had big rugby events in the city before and they go well. Something to do with rugby being played by thugs but watched by gentlemen while football is... Well the city is in party mood. I'll try and get in tomorrow and see what's happening. May have a glass of sherry with some of the gentlemen supporters.

I did pass the Hilton Hotel just as Team Uruguay were arriving at their very comfortable base while they stay in the city. It's all academic to us though as the result won't have any affect on England progressing further as they have already been knocked out.

The other picture is a arty shot of the Hilton Tower. From this angle it looks taller than ever.
