Desperately seeking

Vale Royal Moorings

It was a lovely morning on the Weaver, we had looked forward to coming here since our last visit in 2009. We viewed the mist from the same place.

Today we explored the part of the Weaver we hadn't seen last time. A very quiet day with good scenery and hardly any other boaters. The huge locks we had to use in this part of the river would have taken at least 8 boats like ours. It uses half a million gallons of water each time it's used! These locks are manned and worked electrically.

We went as far as we could without getting into tidal water then moored for the night at a place called The Devil's Garden. Our companions from last night were there before us with Cutty Sark II.
