Eye, yi, yi

After a frustrating and heartbreaking visit with my aunt, we stopped for a beer and both took off our glasses to rub our eyes. Aunt Dot is doing what they say you do as you age: you become more and more like yourself. So as she condenses further into becoming more and more like herself, she becomes more cantankerous. We just had to get away, bewildered at what happens when you grow so old. At 91, Dot is still both lonely and confounded about being so alone, as well as funny and insulting as always. She's the one who could use the beer.
