Oil Spot

One of my favourite photographers is Austrian born Ernst Haas, who in the 50s was decades ahead of his time. He created pictures with movement, and tremendous abstracts long before it was fashoinable to do so. In 1952 he photographed the rainbow colours in an oil spot, which looked amazing and I have often struggled to get the depth of colour into a photo. This spot - on the road outside my house on a rainy day - created just the rainbow effect I wanted.
