A Girl Can Dream...

Visited Sweetwater Wetlands Park this morning. Just one of the many incredible natural areas here in Gainesville and the surrounding area. We are truly fortunate! This park was designed and built to handle the rainwater runoff from the city. As their website explains :
"Sweetwater Wetlands Park is not only a place to connect with nature, it's a way to protect our environment. The park, which consists of more than 125 acres of wetlands and ponds, was created to improve the water quality of wetlands in Paynes Prairie and the Floridan Aquifer.
Now a thriving habitat, Sweetwater Wetlands Park is filled with vast numbers of plants and animals, including birds, butterflies, alligators and Florida cracker horses."
During my visit I came upon a small herd of those wild horses...the white Mare is the top female and that is her very handsome black Stallion! Tried to decide what color to make the text...well, Pink of Course...for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
*** Here's a link to the Breast Cancer Site that will provide a free mammogram to a woman in need for every click on the pink bar.  Please take a minute for a great cause. And please pass it on! ***
