Southern Alps

Marie and I went to Tekapo today, a big front come through last night and brought rain and wind at home. Tekapo and surrounding areas had a big dump of snow. 9degC at home, 2degC at Fairly, and -3degC at Tekapo at 1:00pm this afternoon. The sun was bright on the snow and some huge cloud banks strated building up on the Alps but stunning crisp day. The air temperature was so cold that the water in Tekapo was so warm steam was coming off the lake,and that water is very cold all year round.
