Loch Hourn most likely comes from the Gaelic meaning loch of hell (Loch Iuthairne), but as long as you are not in a small boat in the middle of the loch in winter in a gale of wind, its unlikely you would ever see why this most beautiful of places earned its name. Loch Hourn is a sea Loch to the North of Knoydart on the West Coast of Scotland.
