Laundry

Yes, there are still differences in every day life that I haven't described (I believe). Here's one: in stead of owning an own washing machine (and dryer for some people), New Yorkers go to a laundromat or have their laundry picked up dirty and returned clean and folded. We have a laundromat in the basement of our building, which has a lot of benefits over owning our own machines. The three most important I can now think of  are: if one breaks it's not our (financial) responsibility. Also, I would guess it's more ecological sustainable if machines like this are shared. Lastly, it is just really convenient being able to run your different loads (towels, delicate etc) simultaneaously - all laundry done within a single evening!
