Botallack Engine House

At the last minute I decided to join the walk from Pendeen Watch to Sennen Cove. I'm so glad I did. The weather was gloriously sunny with a cool breeze and good visibility. The first part was coastal walking with numerous relics of mining buildings, dating from the 1800's to 1990. In some cases these are sited extremely close to the cliff as shown by the engine houses in this photo. There is another located just above it.

The whole area is very scenic with rugged cliffs, turquoise coves, transparent sea, moorland leading up to Cape Cornwall.

Then the scenery changed as we approached Sennen Cove with with wide sandy beaches backed by sand dunes. We even saw a seal in the sea.

Another fairly energetic walk in a beautiful location.
