Mono Monday - ROCK

Today's mono Monday challenge is ROCK, thanks to Nickimags88 for hosting.

I had a delightful and unexpected visit to Bletchley Park with good friends, followed by a meal out at a trip to the theatre with my friend C to see a fantastic play - King Charles III (if you can get a ticket, I'd definitely recommend it).

So much to take photos of around Bletchley Park and so little time to process them!  So, with the challenge in mind, I took several photos of the wonderful statue of Alan Turing by Stephen Kettle, which is made of slate  ( 'a fine grained grey, green, or bluish metamorphic ROCK easily split into smooth, flat plates').

Alan Turing's genius helped break the secret German codes in WW2 and he is widely acknowledged as the father of the computer. Bizarrely he was also treated appallingly by the State as he was homosexual.   Thank goodness we have now moved on and his genius is more widely recognised.
