Looks Good To Me

Strange Names...

... for a beer and a brewery.

Evil Twin is a Gypsy Brewery* headquartered in Brooklyn, NY. There are 100 beers listed on the brewery website, many with equally unusual names, brewed in many different countries. Do you fancy a bottle of Even More Jesus?

The company founder/brewer is Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø. His twin brother, Mikkel Bjorg Bjergsø, owner of Mikkeller -- also a Gypsy Brewery -- is perhaps his fiercest competitor. I was told that the twins started out working together, but had a major disagreement and went their separate ways. Evil Twin is apparently a tongue-in-cheek reference to the parting.

* Gypsy breweries generally do not have their own equipment or premises. They operate on a temporary or itinerant basis out of the facilities of another brewery, generally making "one-off" special occasion beers. The trend of gypsy brewing spread early in Scandinavia. Their beers and collaborations later spread to America and Australia. Gypsy brewers typically use facilities of larger makers with  excess capacity.
