Red Road 53

In the background are the 13 stories that didn't come down at Red Road Court.  In the foreground are the neat towers lying almost flat after the blowdown (although that isn't exactly as planned either!).

I was told today that the precarious buildings remaining will not blow down even if there are extremely strong winds.  The reason for this is the very deep strong foundations which will apparently prevent them toppling.  The cutting away of the remaining stories starts later this week and should be complete in just over 2 weeks.

When I was there today I was invited by some nice workmen at the nearby Church of Scotland to go back later this week and get some shots taken from their roof which overlooks the site.   Haven't decided whether to take up the offer or not as I'm not keen on heights and climbing ladders!
