Northern Exposure

Can I come in please?

We're surrounded. Yesterday's goldcrest has spread the word and there's loads of these wee guys hanging out in our garden.

Well I say the garden but they seem pretty keen to get in the house. They keep swooping around the place and bashing into the windows.

This one was sitting just outside the porch door. Don't know if he had hit the window and was a bit dazed or if they are a bunch of very brave (stupid?) wee birds but he wasn't fazed by us at all. Sat there quite happily for a few minutes and Campbell nearly got him to sit on his hand before the bird decided that he preferred to chat to us from a higher perch.

I decided to keep an eye on him to make sure he was ok and headed off to the garden, only to meet another one sitting round the corner on the porch windowsill, another on the garden table and about 5 or 6 sitting in the bush behind it.

Had the distinct impression they were forming a very cute but disorderly queue to get inside.
