Beauty is all around us.

A Day in Worcester.

We set off in rainy weather from Rishton at 9am and arrived in Worcester soon after 11am after a pleasant journey by car.
The Open Day at Worcester University was very enjoyable and informative.
They have outstanding as their status from Ofsted.
The staff were helpful, enthusiastic and inspiring professionals.
As Maria wants to study a combined English Literature and Journalism BA(Hons) starting from next September, this would be an excellent place for her to study.
However we have a good few more Open Days to attend, as her college requires a short list of 5 universities.
We were given all the information we needed and a guided tour of some of the accommodation
After a nice lunch in warm sunshine we visited the cathedral.
I was enthralled by the scale of it and the merging of all the architectural
styles that have been preserved for many generations.
It was founded in 680 by St. Oswald, and is dedicated to Christ Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Sir Edward Elgar performed there at many of the Three Choir Festival concerts. They have a programme for teaching bell ringing.
It was not easy to select just one photo to represent our visit to Worcester, but I love old fashioned Victorian stained glass so that is why I settled on this beautiful piece for my blip today.
