Autumn flowers

A whole genus of shrubs that flower in late summer should be better known than they are. This Clethra alnifolia is just coming into flower now and will have good autumn colour later. I think it might be a cultivar  - will check on the database tomorrow. Whatever it is, it's well worth growing and perfectly hardy.
