Hotbanks in autumn

Chores this morning and then an afternoon jaunt to Hotbank Crags just to the east of Housesteads Fort.  There was barely a breath of wind and it was warm in the October sun.  We did a relatively short circular walk which was dry underfoot in the main but I came a cropper in a large bog where my leg disappeared to mid thigh.  It was quite alarming and thankfully my camera survived unscathed.  Fortuitously we had some poly bags in the car on which to sit for the journey home!

Last day of my few days holiday from work.  It's been lovely having time to catch up and enjoy some of this amazing October weather.
