Pampas Grass

Cortaderia sellona

Native to Souther South America. A popular Blip subject but I don't think I have done it before.

Our plant starts to grow new fronds each year in September. And my goodness it must be the fastest growing plant in our garden. You can really see the growth on a daily basis.

It must think it is still in South America and that Spring has arrived. This is curious as here it is responding to lower light and temperatures. It will continue to give a good display all winter.

We like it but beware there is a drawback. It appears that growing it at the front of your house is a signal to some people that you are swingers who go infor wife swapping.
In the 53 years that I have been with Mrs. K. there have been no offers. At least not yet.
