Both of my Y11 classes taught today and I was very pleased to find that my set 5 shared my opinion of the giant, talking rabbit in Of Mice and Men being ridiculous. As it is likely to be the last time I'll ever have to teach it - thanks to Michael Gove and the fact that it's never been my favourite - this year's group have actually made it quite fun.

A busy emergency call out lesson this afternoon underlines how tired the staff are 7 weeks into the term but just one more week to go.

I was good for nothing but inhabiting the sofa this evening and Bailey did keep me company for a while. And he made sure that I didn't move without him knowing.
