Basil and I spent some time here while Len visited his brother Clive in the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. 

The Autumn foliage conceals the building. A very grey day to suit a very grey time.

You have  to feel for Clive's wife and children. There is nothing they can do other than sit and watch him slip away. He has refused any further treatment, which couldn't do much anyway, medication, food and drink. I hope that when the time comes it will be peaceful rather than agonising. Clive is subsisting on morphine.

In the evening, I joined Hayley at a photoshoot at Colwick Hall Hotel in Nottingham. It went on rather longer than anticipated. I didn't get home until midnight.
