Shelburne Falls View

A view from the Salmon Falls Gallery, overlooking the little town of Shelburne Falls, Mass.  The gallery is hosting a group show of our photo club, and we held an open group discussion there on the topic of "The Demise of the Straight Photograph"-- in other words the spread of ways in which the content of photos is manipulated, in Photoshop or otherwise. It was very lively,  and fascinating at least for me--ranging all over the lot and impossible to summarize.  The view gives a sense of our fall colors, which seem near their peak; don't miss the fallen leaves on the side of of the street in the foreground.

The town's most illustrious feature is the Bridge of Flowers; it's not the main bridge in the window, but two of its arches are through that bridge. The gallery is large, featuring superb handcrafts produced by local artists; only a small fraction of them are visible here.
