It's been a good day

The All Blacks won their quarter final rugby match,
we had rain (not much but a start),
the tuis are back feeding at the tui tea jar
and when I went down to fill it up there was a loud humming in the pittosporum.

As you can see it is in full bloom and dripping nectar. It was very shady and I put on a macro filter for fun.Wasn't greatly successful so went round into the school grounds to get on the sunny side and hardly saw a bee- too windy and they don't like wind. However I got one on the new shoot for an extra.

Two hours later and no bees feeding at all. It's almost as if they were on a cruise and came for an hour or two and then whizzed off to the next place.

The flower of the pitto looks black in the shade but is more a deep grape colour.

Yes, it's been a good day.
