Nyhavn

Negotiated bus and metro and found our way to the harbour thanks to two kind locals. They seemed delighted to find we were Scottish as they had just returned from a much enjoyed holiday in Edinburgh and Eigg. Small world.

We had a wander round admiring the boats, exploring a couple of posh shops then retired to the cafe of the Arbejdermuseet (Workers Museum) for a late and leisurely lunch.

The extra photo is of s particularly attractive shop - full of nautical antiques and maritime style clothing (beautifully tailored and lined jackets etc, hand-made shoes). All "reassuringly expensive" as a friend of mine would say. While we were there another customer picked up a scarf and asked the price. The assistant said it was 500kr (£50) and went on to explain the cost and implied quality by saying it was made of Scottish wool. "Must be good, then!" we chipped in.
