Hutan

I have been getting cabin fever in Banda Aceh so it was nice to escape the city and join colleagues in a patch of forest called Tahura, for a few hours. The highlight was catching a glimpse of a great hornbill and repeatedly hearing huge wings flapping nearby in the canopy. The sky above had a strange hazy tinge to it, related to the fires that continue to burn further south east in Sumatra. I feel for the residents of everywhere more directly in the smoke's path as they've been choking for weeks now.
