Munitions Quay

In wartime this jetty would have been a hive of activity loading explosive weaponry on to ships.

Today the empty berths and cranes rust in the warm October sunshine and the tricky approach channel is silted-up.

Not an easy harbour to enter in strong on-shore winds, tides must be carefully monitored.

Location: Irvine, Ayrshire.
