Korean War Memorial

This is the memorial to the British servicemen who died in the Korean war between 1950-1953.
It's a quiet spot near Linlithgow & Torphichen, the focus being a Korean style shrine that holds the names of the 1114 fallen. The small wooded area is planted with 110 Korean firs, one for each 10 who died.
A calm place with short walks and a viewing point on the hill above.

I thought it was fitting this week for the theme of Heroism. Acts of heroism are all around us, large and small, but during times of conflict these selfless acts are common amongst the madness and horror.
