Glimpses of Blackheath 3

Last time on our wanderings about Blackheath, I left you at the stone arch entrance to Govetts Leap Lookout. Okay now ... turn 180 degrees and walk 2.7 kilometres back to the Great Western Highway. Now turn left and walk 400 metres south. Turn right and proceed 80 metres west up to the highest point in the vicinity - approximately 1080 metres above sea level..

We are standing below "Megalong Reservoir" a positively ancient but still commissioned concrete tank, holding some 2.2 million litres of fresh water.

To me the most interesting thing photographically about this structure is the old iron access ladderway which, with the light behind it, becomes an interesting sculpture.
