Hoping for Change

Federal Election Day - and what an important day it is.  It's encouraging that the number of people who voted in the advance polls was higher than usual.  I hope that many more Canadians exercise their right to vote and that we have a change in the party in power.  All signs are pointing to a three-way race between the Conservatives, the Liberals and the NDP, with the Liberals slightly ahead in polls.   No matter what polls say, it's how people vote today that counts.  We'll be glued to the telly for hours, watching to see what's happening across the country. There's been a lot of discussion and debate about strategic voting to make sure that the Conservatives are ousted.   I'm pretty sure that Elizabeth May, leader of the Green Party, will win in our riding.  She's very popular locally but has been excluded from some of the debates and doesn't get nearly as much exposure in the media as the other leaders.
We may take an occasional break from the tension and flip over to see how the Blue Jays are doing, although that may cause some tension as well!  I don't think it's going to be a quiet night in our house.
