Bumble bee in the kowhai

On the estuary path there are three kowhai trees growing close together and in full golden bloom.  As I passed, I could hear the hum of the many bees that were visiting on this sunny morning.

My favourite is the first extra. I love the way the bumble bee is hugging the flower tightly with his legs swinging free and his little toes are turned up as though in pleasure at the plentiful supply of nectar .
