This morning I spotted a couple of 'variable' damselflies - surely the least inspiring name for an insect! Unfortunately they were moving faster than I can focus so no decent images. The BBC's - broad-bodied chasers - were around again. A few days ago I blipped the female, today its the turn of the male. Although the abdomen's of both are brown the male develops a distinctive pale blue pruinescence that covers the underlying colour.
