Man at Work, Bratislava

Had a very good tour round Bratislava, capital of Slovakia, by Noddy Train and foot, although it was cold and wet and windy to start. We visited the impressive Castle on the hill and learned a lot about the history of the country from our very amusing and very cynical guide:-). Most of our guides don't have a good word to say about politicians, both past and present!

The older centre of the city was a delight, with so many Baroque buildings still standing and lots of renovation going on too. This is a very famous sculpture which stops people in their tracks and shows off the humorous side to the people:-)

We returned to the ship and after another wonderful lunch, we sat up on the sun deck huddled up in jackets, hats, scarves etc, but the sun did come out for a while and so I was able to take masses of photos. A very relaxing and civilised way to travel through several countries in a short space of time.

A "show" is planned for this evening by the ship's crew, which is a new venture, as they are usually reserved for the larger cruise ships. I'll reserve my opinion until after the show:-)
