I walked to the post office in town today and found these pretty pink seed pods with orange seeds on the way back. It was pretty breezy and only about 5 degrees so I picked some to take home. I popped them on a granite paver in the back yard but the light was too dull. I got better lighting by taking them inside and putting them in front of the kitchen window. I had to look up the plant - Euonymus europaeus - or spindle plant in English. The wood is very hard and was used for wool spindles as it can be cut to a sharp point.
Thanks to jensphotos for hosting. I have added the pink tab as well for Pinktober, Breast Cancer Awareness  month.
