I wish I knew .....

.....what this plant is called. Any blippers have any idea? I found it growing in the centre of a newly dug flower bed in King's Park. The flower bed is awaiting new autumn/winter planting but the centre piece is already in situ.

The extra is a very pretty clematis which I spotted this afternoon when I went to visit a friend who has been rather poorly for a while. She loves her garden and has this clematis growing just outside her front door.
