Ginger, Greenock, Grey

Smirr - a good word for today. Dreich is too harsh - there were rainbows & sunny spells in Greenock. And pumpkin soup. A short diversion for quick wine in Glasgow, then a straightforward journey back to Leith.

I always take the same picture in Greenock: from the quayside, outside the Beacon, looking across to Argyll & Bute. But, I have a real soft spot for Andy Scott's 'Ginger', which I walk past every time I visit by train. It's become a bit of a 'welcome to Greenock' sign for me. I often wave 'hello' if I drive past. I wave at the Kelpies too & the Heavy Horse on the M8. And the Big Heids - though sometimes I salute them. I don't wave at the Horn. That would be weird...
