Day trip to the beach

Much to the envy of staff and children the sewing club went on their trip to the beach today - wells Next to the Sea. 6 kids 4 staff had the most wonderful time. The kids loved the beach huts and all got ideas for theirs. They spent a couple of hours playing in the sand, had lunch then washed their feet in the dog wash at the cafe.  It is such a humbling feeling to think that we gave 4 kids their first experience of a beach. This is what school is about. Now they have the experience the making of the quilt will mean so much more.

We tried to buy postcards and a couple of sticks of rock. Yes there were postcards but not of Wells Next to the Sea and rock seemed quite rare. the postcards to the Deputy Head (for allowing us to go) and the lady in the office (for booking the minibus) were written on the bus on teh way home, and I shall post them in Chapel St Leonards tomorrow! Well its another beach!

Woohoo, its half term!  Off sewing by the beach for a few days!
