This swan was chasing after one of its cygnets - the parents are at the stage when they are fed up with their offspring and encourage them to take off and become independent.

Not so in the Ellis's household. Last night Cheryl, Gavin and I had a wonderful evening with Max, Katherine and their delightful boys, Zeb and Gulli ( see my extra photos). Theirs is a really close, warm family, were were made so welcome, and were treated to a wonderful curry ( a la Max), followed by the best ice cream I have ever had, provided by Gavin. Thank you all so much - it is a long time since I have laughed and eaten so much all in one evening!
