Between fen and mountains

Spot the isard

It was a five o'clock start as C. and I joined the local chasse.  We climbed up to the top of the valley with torches to our posts.  We were led by two youngsters and a hard climb was made harder following these two mountain goats!  It was lovely to see the sun rise with the clouds below in the valley and we were treated to the sight of two isards on a rock pinnacle 100 metres in front of us.  I wish I had taken my camera and long lens.  We saw no wild boar but one was shot elsewhere on the mountain, and after a generous lunch in the club house, we were given two carrier bagfuls of meat to take home.  The flickr set is here.  It contains butchery shots so vegetarians and those with a squeamish disposition should be warned.
