Elliott Heads

CCN and I drove out to Elliott Heads today with her Mum and sister. It has been somewhat of a ritual when we have visited Bundaberg in the past.
"Okay who feels like a drive to Elliott Heads for Fish and Chips". We didn't need much convincing. Very poignant visit today without our Doug at our side - but I bet he knew what we were up to.
The tide was well out today and I was happy to hear that the small island you can see across the sand bar is now off limits to everyone except the national park rangers. It is a favourite nesting place for migratory birds and they have been pestered by thoughtless people walking their dogs to the area at low tide.
