It's Grim Up North

End of the jetty

Well, here we are again. Standing at the end of the jetty waiting for the sun to get lower in the sky, fingers and toes slowly turning to ice.

And the cafe shuts at 4pm. Why do cafes always shut half an hour before I want to buy something? .....Am always amazed, at weekends, to look out of our kitchen window and see people pouring into the village pub before we've finished breakfast. Makes me feel quite queasy to know that people are tucking into fish, chips and beer beofre the top has been put back on our marmalade jar.

Looking back towards Morecambe in extras.

Well done the House of Lords for delaying the tax credit cuts and attempting to protect those who loose out. Though the arm chair anarchist in me would have liked to have seen the bill rejected outright.
