Euonymus

This is Euonymus atropurpureus or Eastern wahoo, which I would call spindle. Which only goes to show the importance of using Linnean nomenclature or who would guess that we were talking about the same plant. Anyway, this shrub is growing nit far from the creek, just a bit further up the road grom us. I have always liked the look of these little fruits (inedible!) with their four-partite structure. Amazing what bits and pieces can still be found as November approaches!
