Lobster pots

Day off work as K, my boss, doesn't want to risk my germs. A wise decision on his part, perhaps, but I felt rather guilty - still coughing and spluttering, but I'm pretty much OK.

Angus's last day with  us so, this afternoon, MrM drove us to Beadnell for a walk on the beach. It was grey and misty despite the breeze, but it didn't stop people having fun by the sea. Lots of families making the most of the half-term holidays - paddling (in wellies!), building sand castles, sliding down dunes, flying kites, catching crabs... And there was an amazing kite surfer making the sport look so effortless and graceful.

After our walk MrM drove us to Berwick via the coastal route, for some refreshment before Angus caught his train home.

Getting so used to having plumbers in the flat that I totally forgot that yesterday was Day 11 of the great upheaval - the wet wall above the bath was put in place, with some difficulty as nothing in the flat is quite 'square'. And today, Day 12, the shower was installed, the shower screen put  up and the hot and cold taps on the sink changed around (apparently the plumbers had installed them the wrong way round). Not much more to do before MrM and I have to do our bit - painting the ceiling and remaining walls.
