Epstein at the NPGS

A small but rather wonderful exhibition at the Portrait gallery just now - sculptured heads from the collection covering over 2 millenia and 3 continents. Fascinating to see them all in the same space.

Here are the two Epstein pieces - the haunting 'Risen Christ', inspired by the face of a chronically ill friend, and the almost jocular-seeming Einstein, newly escaped from Europe.
