Proof of life

Stenness

On the road to Brodgar and Skara Brae on my bike. The lochs of Harray and Stenness flank the road making for an interesting ride northwards.

At this point the wind was at my back, which was great, but the same could not be said of the latter part of the journey to Stromness. If cycling with a tailwind is a joy comparable only with fruit scones and the birth of my children, then cycling into a headwind is to face the devil's flatulence.

Bird life everywhere, most notably a field of greylag geese and whooper swans that, along with the gulls, took flight as I passed. Fantastic.
