Singing for their Supper

On the way home from a trip to Nelson to to visit the Rembrandt Exhibition, we stopped at the home of a relative of Blipmate to see the nest full of baby birds he has in his shed.

When I say full, I mean it. The four little bodies were packed into their flimsy nest like sardines in a can.  The nest was so precariously placed on a ledge that  a piece of string had been used to fasten it more securely.

The baby birds all opened their mouths hoping for a feed and I balanced on a step ladder trying unsuccessfully to get them opening mouths in unison. There are more pics of them in the extras.

The exhibition was marvelous. It is a collection of digitally remastered and life size paintings by Rembrandt.
